Copper Beeches History

Formerly the Rectory for North Collingham, Parish Church, The church canons resided here with their families for many years. ​

​

Copper Beeches was converted to its current use as a Care Home in 1986. It initially opened with 14 beds and was subsequently extended to its present capacity of 20 beds in 1977 and 1999.

Our team boasts a long-standing continuity, with staff members who have been with us for many years.

Our Philosophy of Care

  • To ensure that the dignity of each resident is maintained at all times by staff and other residents

​

  • To stimulate and maintain physical and mental activities provided by staff by setting realistic targets. Encouraging residents to partake in group or one-to one activities, and participate in the decision making

​

  • To enhance quality of life by providing a safe, secure, comfortable and supportive environment

​

  • To promote independence as much as possible. Encouraging residents to care for themselves where they are willing and able, and to regularly update care plans to take account of this

​

  • To maintain each resident's right to be consulted in any proposed changes to daily living arrangements and to encourage their participation in making suggestions and decision making

​

  • To maintain each residents right of choice of a family practitioner, dentist, optition, chiropodist, etc

​

  • To ensure each resident has the right to socialise with the community at large by encouraging them to invite family, friends, and acquaintances into our care home

  • To mantain each residents right to have their political, religious, sexual beliefs and emotional needs accepted and respected

  • To take action to protect residents’ legal rights and to protect them from any form of abuse​

  • To employ staff in sufficient numbers and with the relevant mix of skills to meet residents needs​

  • To manage and administer the home in such a way as to create an open and positive atmosphere, where residents’ interests are safeguarded by carefully controlled policies and procedures​

  • To focus upon the needs, abilities and aspirations of our residents by regular consultation with them, their relatives and/or representatives and adopting a multi-agency approach to their care, as appropriate​

  • To fairly administer and abide by the terms and conditions of the home.
