Leisure

Leisure time is important to us all and at Copper Beeches we strive to provide a variety of  activities.  You can see more pictures below in our gallery of pictures showing recent activities, events and entertainment held here at Copper Beeches.

We have our own Social Care Supervisor organising daily events, parties and outings.  See attached an example of our activities throughout the week (detailing daily morning and afternoon activites).:   Example Weekly Activities .  This list varies from week to week and is displayed in our day/music lounge where most of the music, activities, events and entertainment takes place.   Activities include “keep fit for life”, arts and crafts, indoor bowls, bingo, cooking, board games, singing and dancing and more recently Wii Fit.  Plymouth Museum provides a reminiscence service and Devon libraries visit every nine weeks.  Live musicians perform throughout the week and monthly coach trips out and about with a couple of hours of sightseeing, sometimes including fish and chips or a pub lunch are arranged.  A 'conversation club is held regulary, where residents discuss topics of interest or interesting stories from their past.  The conversation club is held in another of our lounges or on the sun terrace subject to time of year.

We also have visiting speakers who provide interesting talks on varying subjects including local rescue centres bringing along owls and donkeys to name but a few.  We sponsor two donkeys and an older dog who lives at Woodside Animal rescue and who visits us monthly.

Seasonal outings include Christmas pantomimes, the circus or trips to the theatre or the Pavilions.  
Birthdays and special occasions are celebrated and we always have a Christmas and a summer party.
Not all of our activities, outings and events are included in our weekly fee but will be charged for separately.
