Copper Beeches is one of eleven of Plymouth's most committed homes that have attended the 18 month national programme called My Home Life (in partnership with AGE UK, City University and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation). This programme is aimed at promoting the positive choices and outcomes achieved by care homes. Homes that have completed this programme will become an 'associate' of My Home Life and will receive a certificate of achievement (see Tui Shirley's certifcate here ). Copper Beeches, together with these other homes, have recently presented some of their best practice tips to managers of other care homes, Plymouth Social Services and the (NHS) Plymouth Primary Care Trust. Copper Beeches is also part of a group working closely with Derriford Hospital to improve hospital transitions for older people.
